HI, my name is Monique and I am excited to be a part of the Energy for Life Fitness Team. Currently, I am a running coach for our fit2run program and a Drill Instructor for Rider's Boot Camp.
I have enjoyed physical fitness pretty much since conception. There was seldom a day spent indoors as a child. From climbing trees, and swinging in branches, to performing balancing acts over rivers and then of course my passion - riding horses: everything seemed to lead towards being a bootcamp instructor today!
As a teenager, along with riding, I belonged to the K-W Track team with 400m being my race of torture.
As I got older, (and not so much wiser), I became a farrier ( someone who puts shoes on horses) and quickly learned the benefits of cross training! By working out, I was able to get through my very physical job with less pain and exhaustion, and it also helped my riding. I have competed in western games, jumper and dressage and hope to get back in the ring with my new horse this season.
Running has also been a regular part of my life. I run mainly for peace of mind and occasionally throw a few races in there. My recent passion is coaching others to run and my next personal challenge will be a marathon.
I absolutely love watching people break through their boundaries and realize what they are capable of doing. What an awesome feeling! That is what fitness, running and riding do for me! That is why I have chosen to become a Personal Trainer. Not just to help people bust boundaries, but to have a ringside seat to enjoy the show! It inspires me to keep pushing too!
