Ayurvedic Yoga

Switch off from the week with an alternative Friday night in and holistic wind-down. This extended 75-minute class (7-8.15pm) starts with an introduction to traditional pranayama, or breath control practices, to help you bring your focus inwards. This will be followed by gentle hatha yoga suitable for all levels, and featuring poses tailored to the season. A guided meditation will bring you gently into the energy of rest. Kiran will weave Ayurveda, yoga’s sister science, throughout the class. You’ll hear explanations of why pranayama, yoga, and meditation can be so powerful, and how you can bring these practices into your every day in a way suited to your constitution and the season. Kiran will also share guidance on a different Ayurvedic self-care ritual each month, giving you more tools to find balance once the class has ended. Expect to look deeply within and feel entirely nourished and relaxed as you float home.
Kiran is an Ayurvedic consultant who believes that we all have the tools within us to find balance. Brought up in a traditional Indian household where the ancient wisdom of yoga and Ayurveda was part of her everyday, Kiran shares these practices in a way which honours their deep cultural heritage, while making them practical for our lives today.
